I GOT TAGGED BY MORE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE FOR MORE OC'S and it took me 5eva to sit down long enough to actually make this a journal. ^^; I should give y'all a proper update sometime, but basically life has been busy in a good way. I still need to reply to journals done by people I tagged last time (and who tagged me this time!) but this is long overdue already so let's get it out in the world!

:bulletred: GUS :bulletpurple: Tagged by WickedStellar
(FYI: Gus is a Lucy/Austin baby so he resides in NextGen canon! Lil bit of a sneakpeek of him here and here!)

1. Gus absolutely adores the ocean and unapologetically wants to be a mermaid.

2. ...Since that's not really a viable career option, he wants a job in either marine biology or veterinary nursing. Maybe a marine vet??? That would be the best.

3. He's that annoying over-achieving eldest sibling who gets consistently good grades, participates in all kinds of random extra-curriculars, is liked by basically all the teachers... He's also that asshole that doesn't really study for a test or leaves an essay to the night before and still aces it. (To be fair I'm using 'aces it' a bit lax. He does really well for someone who has butterflies for brains. If he actually knuckled down he'd get 100% consistently, buuuut butterflies for brains :I So actual grades vary.)

4. Gus ends up with a nipple piercing. Because Bri.

5. Pretty sure he gets a shark tattoo too because sharks are beautiful badasses and Gus is nothing if not spontaneous. And he LOVES sharks. ...and because Bri again, lbr.

6. His alias is Alchemist, but runner-ups were Enzyme and Midas.

7. Although Gus can FEEL he doesn't actually register pain as...well, pain. Which is not actually great as it sounds - he can be wandering around on a fractured foot for weeks or stick his hand on a hot stove and not realise right away that he's ON FIRE. He gets lots of visits from Aunty Mel as a babbu. (Which Gus actually enjoys but mama Lu is super stressed about :<) One of the fun off shoots though is that he can eat catastrophically spicy hot food without batting an eyelash. He enjoys baffling people with his party trick of casually eating entire ghost chillies. Younger bro AJ enjoys using this as an opportunity to make bets and win every time.

8. I like comparing Gus to Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk - He's very well-meaning, but send him out to sell a cow and he'll come home with magic beans. (Related: don't ever send Gus out to get milk. He's more likely to come back with literally anything other than milk.)

:bulletred: LUCY :bulletred: Tagged by Coolspeedbot

1. Attempts to 'cure' her as a child included the use of hydrotherapy, bloodletting, and cocaine.

2. She really loves creepy crawlies, especially spiders and moths (which she'd get in her room pretty frequently as a babu and be fascinated with). As for garden bugs, a big fav next to butterflies is Ladybirds!! <3 She's totally that person that'll spot a spider on the wall even if it's not moving and insist you leave it be. Or at least take it outside in a cup and PLEASE PUT THE ROLLED UP NEWSPAPER AWAY D:

3. Although she appears to adapt to the future pretty damn quickly after being in the crystal ball, Lucy actually goes through a REALLY rough adjustment period (like, the self-destructive kind) particularly in the first several months or so. Trouble is it's mostly an internal/private turmoil so nobody really gets the extent of what a bad place Lu was(is?) in. She retains a level of recklessness for a loooooooong time, even after getting over some of her darker thoughts and habits, and it's a big reason she's very much a self-sacrificing kind of hero.

4. Upon meeting any new man, Lucy immediately rates him on how good he would be in terms of 'husband material', a stupid (not to mention heteronormative) remnant of her marriage-happy victorian upbringing. It's a snap judgement she can't really help, but she tries to not let it affect her interactions overall with the person. It's also subject to change pretty rapidly, usually towards the 'nope-don't-want-to-marry' end of the scale. Which says waaaay more about Lucy and her deep-set conflict over wanting to be happily married but also not wanting to conform to those dumb expectations than it says about the guy in question. This habit is actually one of the things that gets in the way of Lu realising she's very much bisexual for the longest time. (Ladies, by default, are never 'husband material'. BUT DUH LUCY THEY CAN BE WIVES. MIND BLOWN.)

5. I feel like I've mentioned this somewhere before, but anyway: It's an embarrassingly long time before Lucy realises that the English Empire isn't a thing anymore and that America has a president instead of a monarchy (she initially assumes the president is basically a prime minister and still under a monarchs reign). ...it might be worth mentioning that Lu is of course aware that Queen Victoria herself is very much dead by now, it just doesn't initially occur to her that the British Empire is too.

6. Lucy might have a high pain threshold but she bruises/breaks easily and heals slowly. ... doubly slowly since she doesn't give herself the chance to heal properly with actual bed rest and whatnot. Her body is kind of a wreck...

7. ...That said! Despite needing a boost of vaccines when she arrives in the future Lu actually has a pretty kickass immune system. Cold, flus, infections and the like are very rare for her. She INJURES easily, but she's pretty much never sick.

8. Her sister Ellen was the only one to know Lucy was running away to join the circus, but Lu never divulges the entire reason why. It's kind of a case of selective truths...

:bulletgreen: SCOTT :bulletgreen: Tagged by Linzerj

1. He doesn't have a middle name because I couldn't decide on one, but in early concepts he's down as 'Scott Q Swift'. He'll sometimes introduce himself like that for kicks and giggles, but the Q doesn't stand for anything.

2. He never does find out the truth about his parents and what happened when he was born. HOWEVER. He does have a brief Annie inspired, media covered, search for his original parents in his late teens/early twenties (which goes about as well as it does in Annie. So not well at all. :I)

3. Although Scott travels all the time and will try new things on a whim, he's never really liked spicy foods. If he could eat plain chicken nuggets and chips forever he probably would. Scott's tastes are pretty bland overall.

4. Scott comes REALLY close to settling down with one of his foster families at one point, only his frequent disappearing act puts a strain on the family so he thinks the best thing to do is just nope out for good. Which is dumb Scott logic but actually his way of being considerate.

5. Scott likes to visit(/spy on) other orphans he met as a little 'un to see how they're getting on. As he gets older, he's more active about intervening if he can have a positive effect on their lives. He won't do anything HUGE or flashy though. Just little acts of goodwill that'll mean a good deal to the person in question. A kind gesture on a crappy day. That sort of stuff. It's not something he does super frequently anyway though.

6. Scott and Lucy actually do matching themed Halloween costumes most years. (Not like COUPLE costumes, per say, but they'll both dress up as pirates or disney characters or Star Trek crew or something. They get stupid excited over it because they are dorks.)

7. What he would have been named if he had stayed with his biological parents is nowhere near as cool as "Scott Swift".

8. He likes undercover aliases that also happen to be bad puns (Tom Atoe, Joe King, Sam Witch).

Aaaaaand that's it for now!

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU WANT ANOTHER TAGBACK (OR A TAG IN THE FIRST PLACE?) and I'll go snoop out a character of yours to ask about. :eyes: ...Or just feel free to steal this I guess? xD

Okay so definitely feel free to retag me (and find someone other than Hestia maybe? hahaha) but also, I have such AFFECTION for Scott (and only partially because we share a name) but the PUN NAMES. YES. I AM HERE FOR THIS. I LOVE HIM. I want to just hug this strange little Grasshopper Child (also, Hestia would totes refer to him as grasshopper and eventually 'hop a long' if he's annoying her. Like, 'okay, Hop-A-Long. We've heard your nonsense. Shush so Lucy can continue her story.')

Lucy needing vaccines is a great point - does she get quarantined for a while to insure she doesn't reintroduce old illnesses/get overtaken by new ones? How does she react to that if she is?

Also, omg baby Gus. He's beautiful (also if he doesn't have much of a concept of pain, could he like give too strong of hugs? Like, he can't conceptualize what's too strong for a hug so he'd either give something wimpy or something bone crushing? Does this make him a really good body language reader? Do people hand him things and remind him not to drink them too soon or to set them down right after? (think Audrey Parker to Nathan Wuornos.)???) I'm so here for all of this I love it. <3
